Enable Earth at Farm Expo 2025: Bringing Biochar and Regenerative Agriculture to Life
September 30, 2025

From September 25–28, 2025, Enable Earth joined the Farm Expo at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani — Thailand’s leading national agricultural fair — to showcase how biochar can turn agricultural residues into high-value solutions that restore soil health, reduce pollution, and build resilience for farmers and ecosystems alike.

✨ Join us in supporting regenerative agriculture — an approach that rebuilds soil health, restores biodiversity, and creates a self-sustaining ecosystem for both people and the planet.
At the same time, biochar represents one of the most effective ways to turn agricultural waste into something of lasting value, rather than leaving it to decompose or be burned in the open air.

🔥 The Challenge: “If farmers shouldn’t burn — what else can they do?”
Across northern Thailand, open burning remains the fastest and cheapest way for farmers to clear residues after harvesting animal-feed corn. Without a practical alternative, burning continues — releasing enormous amounts of carbon and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) into the atmosphere every dry season.
The impacts are devastating:
- Air pollution, including PM2.5, is the 5th leading cause of death globally.
- Prolonged exposure contributes to lung cancer, COPD, ischemic heart disease, and lower respiratory infections.
- In Thailand, between December and May, over 38 million people live in areas exceeding the safe PM2.5 threshold — including 15 million vulnerable individuals such as elderly citizens, asthma patients, and children.
- The country faces a lung cancer crisis, with 48 new cases and 40 deaths every day, largely linked to air pollution and fine dust.

🌾 Why Regenerative Agriculture — and how biochar plays a role
Regenerative agriculture is a holistic approach to farming that not only maintains productivity but also restores natural ecosystems. It focuses on improving soil structure, conserving water, increasing biodiversity, and capturing carbon from the atmosphere — locking it away safely in the soil.
Unlike conventional agriculture, which often depletes nutrients and degrades land over time, regenerative systems work with nature rather than against it — enhancing soil fertility, productivity, and resilience against climate stress.
♻️ Biochar: Turning Waste into Wealth for Healthier Soils
Biochar is a carbon-rich material produced by heating agricultural residues (like corn stalks and husks) in a low-oxygen process called pyrolysis. When applied to soil, biochar acts as a long-lasting soil enhancer that improves water retention, nutrient efficiency, and microbial health.
Depending on soil type, biochar can tackle multiple challenges:
- Clay soil – Improves aeration, reduces compaction, and allows deeper root growth.
- Sandy soil – Enhances water-holding capacity and nutrient retention, increasing drought resilience.
- Eroded or degraded soil – Strengthens soil aggregates and reduces runoff, protecting topsoil in high-rainfall or sloped areas.
At Enable Earth, we’re developing scalable industrial biochar solutions to turn agricultural residues into carbon-negative products, creating circular value chains that benefit both farmers and the environment.
🌍 Looking Ahead
Our participation in Farm Expo 2025 marks an important step toward building awareness around biochar and regenerative agriculture among farmers, agribusinesses, and the public.
We aim to keep expanding this conversation — from reducing open burning and improving soil fertility, to building carbon-smart supply chains for Thailand’s future.
Join us on this journey to create Cleaner Air, Healthier Soil, and a Regenerative Future for All.
